The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met on November 7, 2006, at 6:30 p.m. and the following business was transacted. The Mayor read an emergency report on sewer pump, McNair Rd. from Gene Ward. The board authorized the purchase of a similar pump to be installed. Accepted the Municipal Compliance Questionnaire. Paid bills and ordered the clerk to place advertisement for hot and cold mix for one year and bank depository for 2 years based on bid acceptance calendar guidelines. Authorized the Mayor to contact a company to inspect the towns water wells for maintenance. The board recessed until December 5th, 2006.

 

 Ms. Cheryl Allen, Franklin Elementary School teacher, came and observed how the town business meetings were conducted. Mayor Dickey had given a talk to her class about the duties in municipal government and the class had decided to hold an election and voted officers for their class. The Mayor thanked Ms. Allen for coming and wished her class well in their studies of municipal government. The board members were introduced to Ms. Allen and invited her back to observe.
